A collaboration between
Hi-U Foundation & Omnia
This retreat is possible because of a collaboration between Omnia Group Ashland, a premier licensed-and-regulated Service Center, and Hi-U Foundation, a Nonprofit with the mission to steward high-quality transformational experiences using mushroom in connection with the natural world.
For each session, we will have use of Omnia Group’s beautiful service center with large and small group rooms, equipped with cozy pillows, blankets, and mattresses with a natural garden complete with a relaxing deck to enjoy.
Designed with your comfort in mind.
As a result of this collaboration, you will spend the majority of your retreat experience immersed in the incredible natural sanctuary of the retreat center and be comfortably chauffeured to and from the service center for your mushroom journeys.
This is a truly unique experience inside Oregon’s new legal services law.
Almost all other legal retreats in the USA (single-session or multi-day) require you to provide your accommodation, meals, and transport to and from the centers, which are in urban settings. Yes, we offer services that many refer to as "mushroom therapy". It’s important to understand that these terms are not universally defined in this new and emerging field. We provide legal and regulated mushroom services under the guidelines of the Oregon Health Authority, focusing on creating a safe, compassionate environment for personal exploration.
While our services incorporate principles that are therapeutic in nature, they are part of a broader framework that ideally works in conjunction with traditional therapy or coaching. This supportive care is crucial, especially in the weeks and months following a session, to help integrate the insights and emotional discoveries made during the experience. By combining our services with ongoing therapeutic support, you can achieve the most meaningful and lasting benefits.
On Mushrooms
-
According to recent studies, mushrooms are the safest psychoactive compound currently known - safer than tobacco, cann-abis, and alcohol. Mushrooms substances are non-addictive, non-toxic, and, when taken within a structured setting under the guidance of licensed professionals, hold little to no risk. Mushrooms utilized by Confluence Retreats are grown by licensed manufacturers overseen by the Oregon Health Authority and are lab tested to ensure the volume of active ingredients in each batch is known.
-
Mushroom, upon entering the body, is quickly metabolized into p-silo c-in, which is responsible for the well-known transformational effects. Mushroom acts on serotonin at the 5-HT2A receptor, increasing the amount of serotonin available in the brain, and producing profound changes in perception, such as visual and auditory hallucinations, tactile perceptions (such as tingling or warmth), and synaesthesia (the merging of senses).
Users of mushrooms report entering a profound state of mind where the usual limits of consciousness are expanded. Realizations about the self and the universe may come to the forefront, and people will often describe feelings of unity, interconnectedness, and unconditional love. Studies have shown that this can induce a mystical experience and that this positively correlates with the benefits that users report following the trip.

There are two days on retreat where mushrooms are given.
The first is a lower dose day at 15mg (roughly 2.5-3g dried mushroom equivalent) on day 2 of the retreat. For most people, this will be enough to provide a full experience. This dose will familiarize you with the effects of mushrooms and help you ease into the retreat.
The second dose can be as high as 34mg (roughly 6-7g dried mushroom equivalent, often referred to as a ‘heroic dose’). This dose is designed to support your deep exploration in the safety of the container and facilitation that you’ve built up to over days 1-3 of the retreat.
As a basis to contextualize dosing: clinic trials for mushrooms have almost always been done at 25mg, and some research has suggested that dosing over 30mg of mushrooms increases the likelihood of challenging experiences during your journey. Research has also suggested no noticeable difference in therapeutic effect between 20-30mg of mushrooms.
We have designed our dosing protocol on retreat to increase the chances of positive outcomes while minimizing the chances for challenging experiences.
Dosages are never set per person. We will determine your dosage together with you during your 1-1 conversations in advance of each mushroom session. What we recommend varies depending on your intentions, previous experience, your sensitivity to expanded states of consciousness, and your anxiety level on retreat.

We review applications individually, taking into account both psychological and medical history, as well as current medications, to ensure there are no contraindications.
While the Oregon legal model for mushrooms is not a medical program or treatment model, it is common for individuals to seek relief for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges through mushrooms, which has shown promise in clinical trials. If you are currently prescribed medications for mental health conditions, such as SSRIs or antipsychotics, we collaborate with knowledgeable pharmacists and MDs who can provide additional medical advice and support. Together, we can create a personalized plan to ensure your experience is safe and beneficial.
